UCLA Football vs Arizona State Gets Off to Weirdest Start of 2023 Season on Saturday
The UCLA Bruins are taking on the Arizona State Sun Devils at the Rose Bowl on Saturday in a game that doesn't have many real implications. The Bruins, entering at 6-3, can't win the Pac-12, and at this point are just hoping to improve their bowl status.
On the flip side, ASU is entering the game at 2-7, just trying to finish an ugly season on a somewhat positive note.
And thus far, neither team has been able to do that.
In arguably the weirdest beginning to a game this season, the Bruins and Sun Devils lined up on the wrong side ahead of the opening kickoff.
Then, it got weirder.
On the opening drive of the game, ASU had their tight end Jalin Conyers take the first snap of the game at quarterback.
The Sun Devils have exactly nothing to lose on Saturday, so expect ASU head coach Kenny Dillingham to have his fair share of fun with his play-calling.
The Bruins are playing for pride and a potentially better bowl game, so they can't let the lowly Sun Devils come into the Rose Bowl and steal a game.
The game started at 6:00 p.m. PT and is airing on the Pac-12 Network.
