UCLA Football: WSU Quarterback Earns Pac-12 Honor Ahead Of Bruins Bout
Following last week's 14-7 loss to the Utah utes, the road for your UCLA Bruins keeps getting tougher as they face another top team in the Pac-12 next week.
Washington State is ranked 16th going into its bye week this week. While the Bruins and Cougars wait to battle each other next Saturday in Pasadena, the Wazzu quarterback is collecting awards.
Following WSU's 38-35 win over Oregon State last week, quarterback Cameron Ward won the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week award.
In a ranked matchup in Pullman, Ward went 28-34 with 404 yards and four touchdowns.
Ward has put his name in the top quarterback in the Pac-12 conversation. He has quickly entered his name into the Heisman topic along with Caleb Williams at USC and Michael Penix Jr. at Washington.
On the season, Ward has already thrown for over 1300 yards and 13 touchdowns.
He has Washington State in the top 25 after WSU did not have high expectations going into this season.
Going into next week, the Bruins will have to figure out how to stop Ward and the high-powered Cougar offense.
Wazzu has scored at least 30 points in all four games this year. UCLA has not been allowing a lot of points this season.
In a ranked matchup against Utah last week, the Bruins only gave up 14 points.
UCLA fans will have to wait until the bye week is over to get their first peek at Ward and Wazzu.
