Ale Kaho is no stranger to blocking punts.

UCLA football fans got their first in-person look at the transfer linebacker from Alabama on Saturday against Hawaii. Considering his previous destination and his five-star rating coming out of high school, it didn't seem like special teams would be the phase of the game in which Kaho would leave his biggest mark.

Coach Chip Kelly, on the other hand, knew exactly what he was in for when Kaho committed to the Bruins, and he wasted no time showing off his new toy. Kaho rushed through the A gap for a blocked punt against the Rainbow Warriors and tight end David Priebe turned it into six by diving on top of the loose ball in the end zone.

This was nothing new to Kaho though.

Kaho earned Alabama special teams player of the week 11 times across his career in Tuscaloosa, three of which honors came against UCLA's next opponent LSU. He has now four blocked punts in his collegiate career.

Take a look at how each one played out.

Sept. 28, 2019, vs. Ole Miss

In a game that the Rebels actually held an early lead in, the Crimson Tide were running away big time by the time the second half rolled around.

Kaho was already a special teams ace at this point, but he had not yet blocked a punt in college. That changed midway through the third quarter against Ole Miss, when Alabama was up by four touchdowns.

Powering his way through a blocker, Kaho pushed towards the punter and reached out with his right hand to swat the ball up in the air. After taking a big bounce, Kaho's teammate failed to secure the ball, giving him time to recover his own blocked punt for a touchdown.

Oct. 12, 2019, vs. No. 24 Texas A&M

Late in another Alabama blowout, Kaho helped put the game on ice by rejecting a punt for the second game in a row.

Kaho lined up on the far left end and essentially got to the punter untouched, outside of a half-hearted attempt to push him outside by the last line of protection. This one would also go down as a touchdown for the Crimson Tide, but Kaho wouldn't be the one to score this one.

Jan. 1, 2020, vs. No. 14 Michigan (Citrus Bowl)

The 2020 Citrus Bowl would eventually turn into yet another double-digit win for the Tide, but it certainly didn't seem like that would be the case early in the fourth quarter.

Michigan was a touchdown away from retaking the lead, and they were nearing midfield before their drive stalled. Kaho tried his best to gift his offense some favorable field position, faking right to open up a lane on his left and give himself a free shot at the punter.

This was Kaho's only block that didn't turn into points, considering the punt still traveled forward and was downed cleanly by Michigan, and Alabama wound up punting on the ensuing possession anyways. Still, it came in a close game on a big stage against a blue blood program in bowl season.

Aug. 28, 2021, vs. Hawaii

It didn't take long for Kaho to carry over his old habits to a new home stadium and fresh uniform.

Early in the third quarter, the drive after quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson extended UCLA's lead to 34 on a 44-yard bomb to Kazmeir Allen, Kaho cemented the blowout with his punt block that once again got picked up for a touchdown. Kaho's teams also improved to a perfect 4-0 in games when he blocks a punt.

Kaho told reporters Tuesday that he doesn't have a nickname that has to do with his special teams skills, but it's only a matter of time before someone comes up with one and it sticks.
