A ton of comparisons can be drawn between the styles in which basketball is played overseas along with those that are used in college basketball as well. Your UCLA Bruins are an organization that have taken note of this over the past couple of year and have made it a point to target a number of the top international recruits to help bolster their own program and polish up their games to help them reach the next level.

And Jan Vide is on the way to try and continue this ongoing pattern of success with international commits that UCLA has been on. Vide is a 6'6 guard that will suit up for the Bruins in the 2023-2024 season. He most recently saw action on the floor with Slovenia in the Fiba U19 World Cup and even though he struggled from three-point land in a handful of games, he was still able to average 17.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals as he landed as the number three scorer in the entire tournament.

CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein named Vide as one of the best standouts from the entire World Cup.

"Other notes from the FIBA U19 World Cup in Hungary: - UCLA's Jan Vide averaged 17.9 PPG for Slovenia and was one of the top scorers in the event. - Arizona's Filip Borovicanin averaged 14.1 PPG for Serbia."

UCLA has been keeping an eye out for guards with size over the past couple of seasons and Vide fits this description. Even though he didn't find too much success from deep in this most recent tournament, the opposing defenses still respected his shot and he maintained consistent form.

Keep an eye out for him in a Bruins uniform next season!
