UCLA Basketball: Legendary Bruin Makes Experts’ List Of 10 Best NBA Shooting Guards
With your UCLA Bruins being a college basketball blue blood (given that, you know, they've won an NCAA-record 11 championships), great players have come in and out of the program for decades.
Some of these players take the next step to the NBA level and become legends in that respect.
Former Bruin Reggie Miller cracks the Hoops Hype list of the ten greatest shooting guards of all time.
"One of the finest shooters ever, Reggie Miller ranks fourth in league history in made three-pointers (2,560). He was also extremely clutch about his shot-making, with a career highlight tape featuring multiple game-winning threes from high-pressure postseason contests. Miller is another player who, despite being an all-time great player in his era, would probably have been even more effective today, as his shooting would have translated beautifully to this era that places such an emphasis on outside sniping." Not only was Miller a great NBA player who made five all-star teams and is 22nd all-time in scoring, he was a great player at UCLA.
By the time he was done playing in Los Angeles, Miller was the second-leading scorer in school history with 2,095 points.
To this day, Miller's name remains towards the top of most UCLA statistical categories including points, field goal percentage, three-pointers, free throw percentage, steals and games played.
On the Hoops Hype list, Miller's name came in eighth of the top 10 shooting guards of all time. He trails some other greats such as Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler, Dwyane Wade and George Gervin.
