In a recent training video with the Spanish national team, recent UCLA signing Aday Mara greeted one of his international teammates in a slightly awkward fashion.

While he Willy Hernangomez was getting stretched out, Mara went over to greet his countryman by pulling on his ankles and eventually shaking his hand.

The elder of the pair in Hernangomez was named 2022's MVP for FIBA's Eurobasket tournament after he averaged 17 points and just under six rebounds a game.

In the final of the tournament, Hernangomez scored 14 and snagged eight boards in a shocking upset of France in another chapter of a rivalry that has seen more than it's fair share of legends.

Hernangomez also has a sibling in the professional ranks through his brother Juancho, who might be best known for his role in the movie Hustle as Bo Cruz.

Juancho is currently playing in Greece for Panathinaikos of the Euroleague after stops in the NBA with the Nuggets, Spurs, Celtics, Spurs, Jazz and Raptors.

Mara only hopes to follow in the footsteps of the Hernangomez siblings on both the international stage and in the NBA.

The first step to such a goal is with Mick Cronin's UCLA team where toughness and defense will surely be at the forefront for the young Spaniard.

After the likes of Johnny Juzang, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Jules Bernard, Tyger Campbell and Amari Bailey have all came and went from the Bruin ranks, it's up to Mara to carry UCLA for this year.

Among him will be tough competition, including fellow Southern California prospects at USC in Isaiah Collier and Bronny James, both projected to be first round picks.

Mara himself ranks high as a prospect, going as high as 6th overall in an early mock draft by Kevin O'Connor.

Bruins fans only hope that Mara's skill and awkward greetings can bring them some success come
