UCLA Basketball: Ex-Bruins Star Spotted with Drake Amidst US Music Tour
Amari Bailey, second round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, is in an excellent position to develop his game during his rookie season with the Charlotte Hornets and get in touch with the rest of their young core. Star point guard LaMelo Ball and incoming lottery pick Brandon Miller will be two guys to watch in Charlotte this year but Bailey should get some action on the main squad as well seeing that he is on a two-way deal.
Bailey first started to rise to fame during his time at Sierra Canyon High School where he made an impact on the varsity squad as a freshman. He also fit right into Mick Cronin's system when he played his lone season with the UCLA Bruins and impressed NBA scouts enough to where he felt confident to enter the 2023 draft.
Basketball fans may also remember that when the southpaw guard played at Sierra Canyon, global artist Drake showed up to a few of his playoff games once his senior year rolled around. Drake is also known to be a close friend of LeBron James and with Bronny James also on that squad, they could not miss an opportunity to show up together.
It was reported that Drake gifted Bailey a custom '10' chain around that time as well and it appears that the two have remained in contact seeing that the 36-year-old rapper is on his US 'It's All A Blur' tour right now and the incoming Hornets rookie was spotted with him.
Another top artist, Lil Durk, was also spotted walking with them and it makes sense seeing that both of them are from Chicago.
It's great to see the former Bruins star staying in touch with his top connections and we can't wait to see him kick off his NBA career!
