UCLA Basketball Injury Report: Returning Bruin Dealing With Shoulder Ailment

Here's hoping he'll be healthy sooner rather than later!

Returning UCLA Bruins sophomore power forward Adem Bona is embarking on his second season a bit worse for wear, unfortunately.

Tracy Pierson of 247Sports reveals that the 6'10" big man appears to be on the mend as he recovers rom a left shoulder ailment, though he's taking things slowly while ramping up his prep during the team's offseason:

"First, and perhaps the biggest news, sophomore post Adem Bona has returned to full practice," Pierson revealed. "He was still held out of the secret scrimmage against Santa Clara over the weekend, but he’s been practicing full-go for a few days. He physically isn’t hampered by the left shoulder and overall looks bigger, having put on a few more pounds of muscle."

Bona is hoping to build on a stellar 2022-23 campaign, in which during which he averaged 7.7 points on 67.5% shooting from the floor, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, 0.7 assists, and 0.6 steals a night across 33 contests.

Last spring, the 20-year-old standout was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, in addition to being included on the 2023 Pac-12 All-Defense Team and the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
