UCLA Basketball: Sophomore Standout Assuming Bigger Leadership Role
Sophomore guard Dylan Andrews has been, and will no doubt continue to be, a major piece of your UCLA Bruins' 5-3 season thus far.
Averaging 10 points and 4 assists per game, the Gardena, California native has become the team's leading playmaker, and is often tasked to get quick baskets when necessary.
Coming off of a game-winner in their 66-65 victory over UC Riverside, Andrews had a lot to say about his new role and what's asked of him as a leader for this Bruins squad:
Asked if he feels "like [he has] to be a leader as a sophomore and the point guard on this team," Andrews responded with:
"Yeah, for sure. Not just me, but everybody has to be locked in."
The sophomore guard clearly holds his teammates accountable, and that bodes well for the future of this young squad's season. With as much depth and talent as they have, maturing, coming into their own, and developing as a unit should ultimately decide this group's fate down the stretch.
