After sealing another win with a 64-60 victory over Colorado, UCLA basketball is on a six-game winning streak.

The Bruins started the season a measly 6-10 but have now won eight of their last nine and have an overall record of 14-11. It's been quite the midseason turnaround for UCLA, who looked done just a month ago.

Sophomore guard Dylan Andrews offered some insight into how the Bruins have improved after their win over Colorado.

“I feel like we’re just figuring out together how to finish out games, and just playing with grit and toughness and that dog on the floor," Andrews said. "Just knowing that we’ve got to get one stop at a time and that defense is more important than anything. I feel like we’re doing a good job with that, and also with keeping the main players on the other teams, keeping them under their average. We’re working on that, and we’re doing a good job so far.”

The Bruins have certainly proven to be gritty and resilient as they've pulled out games lately. Before their 64-60 win over Colorado, the Bruins also came away with a 61-60 game over Cal.

These are the kind of games UCLA struggled to win early in the season. While it's always great to win by a wider margin, it's also important to see that the Bruins can now win a tight game and hold off comeback attempts.

Beyond this, the Bruins have stayed true to their team identity by playing good defense. The Bruins rank No. 15 in the FBS in points allowed per game, giving up just 63.9 on average. They've also done well at notching turnovers, getting 14 against Colorado.

These factors have all allowed UCLA to turn their season around. If they can keep on this streak, they'll be on track to surprise in March.
