UCLA Basketball: Star Bruin Uncomfortably Honest About Terrible First Half Vs ASU
It was a tale of two halves for the UCLA Bruins against Arizona State on Wednesday evening. The Bruins were down 13 at half-time, and it looked like their losing ways would continue.
But the team stormed back in the second half, outscoring Arizona State by 15 points to get the win. UCLA locked in defensively, and they were able to come away with a big victory.
However, the Bruins aren't forgetting about their poor performance in the first half. Even with the win, they know that they need to play a more well-rounded game going forward.
Star Adem Bona was honest about their performance in the first half. He didn't hold back on his thoughts and credited Arizona State for their tough play.
“In the first half, we weren’t playing to our gameplan. We had a couple turnovers. We know they force a lot of turnovers as a team. They play really good defense as a team. They play fast. We realized we had to keep the ball with our team and I think we had less turnovers in the second half.”

The Bruins used their second-half performance to win their second straight game. Within their conference play, getting wins is crucial for their standing.
UCLA head coach Mick Cronin spoke about the game and said that it was just one game. He knows that the task at hand is far from being a complete project.
“I don’t believe in ‘one game turns it around.’ I told you we’re still grossly inexperienced. Saturday is going to be another brutal test and we just got to continue – I’m trying to make it about the guys on the team"

UCLA takes on the Arizona Wildcats on the road this weekend, in what will be a massive test. They haven't been able to win games like this throughout the season, but maybe they can finally get over the jump.
