UCLA Basketball Vs Marquette: Betting Odds, How To Watch, Predictions And More
On Monday night, Adem Bona and the rest of your 3-0 UCLA Bruins are set to square off against the 3-0 Marquette Golden Eagles at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, as part of the Allstate Maui Invitational. It will be broadcast on ESPN2. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. PT tonight.
To my surprise, the Bruins are actually favored against the Associated Press' fourth-ranked Golden Eagles. Per BetMGM, UCLA is currently listed as a -6.5 favorite to beat Marquette.
Perhaps oddsmakers are starting to realize that size really does matter, as the Bruins boast an absolutely massive front line, even with eligibility issues still keeping expected freshman phenom Berke Buyuktuncel, a 6'9" small forward out of Turkey, sidelined. 6'10" sophomore power forward Adem Bona, a Pac-12 All-Defense selection last year, and 7'3" freshman center Aday Mara -- two legitimate NBA prospects -- make up UCLA's starting frontcourt, while fifth-year redshirt 6'10" reserve power forward/center Kenneth Nwuba offers some stellar grit and moxie off the bench.
On the year, Marquette is 2-1 against the spread, while UCLA is 1-2. Pick the Bruins to cover, and let's hope for a final tally in the range of 70-60.
