Fans of the Charlotte Hornets are well-aware just how bright their future is moving forward. LaMelo Ball just signed a huge, new contract and it's confirmed that he is the franchise player and with Miles Bridges returning and number two pick Brandon Miller kicking off his rookie season, another disappointing season will not be accepted in Charlotte.

But outside of Miller and Nick Smith Jr., the Hornets' front office also took a shot on former UCLA Bruin Amari Bailey late in the second round of the 2023 draft . Despite him being another guard, they believed that he was the best player available and he will be joining a number of well-known names.

Bailey had some nice outings in the summer league as he was able to crack double-digits in points multiple times and had numerous dunks and acrobatic layups that brought the crowd to their feet. It's clear though that his game still needs to be polished on both ends and Last Word on Sports' Daniel Benjamin envisions the high-flyer to spend a good amount of time in the G-League during his rookie season.

"Bailey has played six games in the California Classic and the

League. While he played fairly well in Sacramento, he struggled with shooting and turning over the ball in Vegas. He did show off his athleticism and some defensive ability throughout. Bailey will receive about $560,000 this year with the ability to be active for up to 50 games with the Hornets. However, he is expected to see a lot of action in the G League with the Greensboro Swarm."

No matter where he ends up, Bailey always plays with a chip on his shoulder and when he does get the opportunity to suit up for Charlotte's main roster, he will be ready!
