Oregon State did not appear in either the AP Poll or Coaches Poll, and is currently No. 217 in the NET, No. 204 in the KenPom, No. 220 in the T-Rank and No. 231 in the BPI.

The Bruins were the heavy favorite to win the Pac-12 this season, earning the No. 1 spot in the preseason media poll with 26 first-place votes. The Beavers, on the other hand, came in at No. 12. According to the T-Rank WinMatrix, UCLA has an 88.3% chance of winning a share of the conference title, while Oregon State has a 0.0% chance.

UCLA is led by coach Mick Cronin, who is in his fourth season with the program. Cronin boasts a 87-34 record since arriving in Westwood and a 452-205 record as a head coach overall, including his stints at Murray State and Cincinnati.

The Bruins are currently 19-4, including a 10-2 record in Pac-12 play. Following a winless weekend in Las Vegas in November, UCLA rattled off 14 wins in a row, including victories over Oregon, USC, Arizona State, Utah, then-No. 20 Maryland and then-No. 13 Kentucky. The streak came to an end in Tucson when then-No. 11 Arizona pulled away for a 58-52 win, then the Trojans got revenge with a 77-64 win at the Galen Center. The Bruins recovered with wins over Washington and Washington State, but haven't won a road game since Jan. 19.

UCLA is averaging 74.7 points per game while allowing 60.3 points per game, which rank No. 116 and No. 9 in the country, respectively. The Bruins have the No. 23 adjusted offense and No. 3 adjusted defense in the KenPom. Their 16.7 turnovers forced per game and their 10.5 turnovers per game both rank No. 17 in the country.

Guard/forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. leads UCLA with 16.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Guard Jaylen Clark is averaging 13.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game, while point guard Tyger Campbell is averaging 13.2 points and 4.9 assists per game. Freshmen Amari Bailey, Dylan Andrews and Adem Bona, meanwhile, have each emerged as secondary options alongside veteran sharpshooter David Singleton.

Oregon State is led by coach Wayne Tinkle, who is in his ninth season with the Beavers, holding a 125-152 record since arriving in Corvallis. Tinkle has a 283-243 career record including his previous stint at Montana, and he has gone to a total of five NCAA tournaments as a head coach.

A four-game losing streak with losses to Portland State, then-No. 8 Duke, Florida State and Portland State again sank Oregon State's nonconference slate. The Beavers opened Pac-12 play with a six-game losing streak, and despite beating Cal and Colorado, they came back down to Earth with recent losses to Arizona, Arizona State and Utah to drop to 3-10 in-conference and 9-15 overall.

Oregon State is averaging 62.0 points per game while allowing 66.8 points per game, which rank No. 352 and No. 100 in the country, respectively. The Beavers have the No. 266 adjusted offense and No. 130 adjusted defense in the KenPom. Oregon State makes the fifth-fewest field goals per game in the entire nation.

Freshman guard Jordan Pope is the focal point of the Beavers' offense, averaging 12.5 points and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 38.3% from deep and 85.2% from the line. Forward Glenn Taylor Jr. is scoring 11.0 points per game, but no Oregon State player is averaging more than 4.4 rebounds or 0.8 blocks per game.

UCLA is 101-40 against Oregon State all-time, including a 4-1 record since Cronin took over. The Bruins have won their last two games at Gill Coliseum, but the Beavers are 8-4 at home this season.
