Even though the UCLA Bruins landing at number 23 within ESPN's latest list ranking the 25 best college football teams based on their future isn't the best spot for them, it's very important to note that they did not even crack the top 25 last year at this time.

The scouting and recruiting department continue to get better and better each year and it's clear that they are figuring out the best ways to not only recognize top talent but to also convince them to join the university. Some of the biggest names in the sport over the past couple of years have continued their careers at UCLA and these rankings show that.

Experts at Bruin Report broke down exactly why they were able to land in this spot and first pointed at their quarterback talent.

"One of the big reasons for the Bruins' QB, offense, and FPR in the respective Top 25s is due five-star quarterback Dante Moore joining the team. As a true freshman, Moore competed in spring camp. As we reported from camp, the completion for the starting QB spot is open, with Moore being one of the top candidates along with Ethan Garbers."

That QB all certainly be a good one to watch and analysts have already listed it as one of the biggest storylines to keep an eye on heading into the new season.

Their running back depth always goes a long way and shows that they will be very versatile moving forward.

"ESPN also touches upon Kelly's use of the transfer portal, which has brought in a few players that are expected to be key contributors such as running back Collin Schlee as well as wide receivers J.Michael Sturdivant and Kyle Ford."
