In this story:

The UCLA Bruins community waited patiently for months on end for Aday Mara to officially sign with the university for his first season of college basketball. The Spanish phenom had run into a number of issues regarding his contract with his professional team and that made the process of him getting to Westwood much more difficult than previously thought.

Having not even played a single game for the Bruins just yet, Mara is already viewed as a consensus first-round draft pick next year and some even predict that he will be a lottery pick. Standing at around 7'3, scouts are very impressed with his IQ on both sides of the floor along with his soft touch and ability to locate open teammates.

UCLA has a great mix of international talent and local stars on their roster this year and Mara officially joining the team was viewed as the final puzzle piece to completing their offseason goals. Head coach Mick Cronin recently commented on the lengthy process to land Mara and even though he could not give specific details, he assured that the obstacles are finally over.

"No he's in UCLA, he'll be here in a couple of weeks," said Cronin. "We'll see him Monday, he's coming to Madrid to see us. The details of Aday getting cleared and the contract stuff you guys are reading about, I'll never comment on. It would not be in anybody's best interest for me to comment on that."

This is exactly what UCLA fans want to hear and when Mara does finally throw on the blue and gold jersey, it will be a very special day.
