UCLA Women's Golf: Top-40 Amateur In World Signs With Bruins

A new international addition is coming to Southern California!

Your UCLA Bruins women's golf team is adding a critical new piece to its roster.

Francesca Fiorellina, considered Italy's best player, has inked a National Letter of Intent, agreeing to join the Bruins as a member of head coach Alicia Um Holmes' recruiting class, per a UCLA Communications press release.

"I am ecstatic to welcome Francesca to our Bruin golf family as she is one of the very best junior golfers in the world," Um Holmes said. "She's accomplished so much in her young career. I had the opportunity to see her clinch victory at the ANNIKA Invitational Europe, and her ball striking was the straightest I've ever seen and her touch on the greens was impeccable. Francesca's talent, experience and drive for excellence is what we look for when recruiting players to UCLA and her wonderful personality is icing on the cake. We are lucky to have her and can't wait for her to join us in the fall."

In the newest World Amateur Golf Rankings, Fiorellina is ranked as the No. 15 golfer in all of Europe and No. 36 in the world.

She's won three big individual championships: the 2021 French International Lady Juniors Amateur Championship, and the 2022 Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship and the 2022 ANNIKA Invitational Europe.
