The UCLA Bruins women's volleyball team recently completed a season that fell short of their expectations, finishing with a 16-13 record and going 10-10 in conference play.

Recognizing the need for change, the athletic department made a significant move by appointing Noah Casaquit as UCLA's new women's volleyball assistant coach. Casaquit brings a wealth of experience to the table, having achieved success at various schools in California, including California, University of San Francisco, Cerritos College, and Long Beach City College.

Despite his familiarity with the volleyball scene, Casaquit is excited to embark on his new journey at Westwood, where he aims to contribute to the team's improvement and future success.

"I want to thank (UCLA's Alice and Nahum Lainer Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond), Kenny Donaldson and Alfee for this awesome opportunity," Casaquit said. "I am eager to witness and help execute the vision Alfee has laid out for us. His passion and expertise in volleyball is masterful. Learning what makes Alfee, Jen and Amir great people and volleyball coaches has already made me better. I hope to do the same for them. Being at UCLA for the last two quarters has also been motivating and exciting. I have come to learn that what makes UCLA special is the people that make up this community. The team is hungry. The support staff are rockstars. Great things are ahead."

Not only has he coached for many years, but he's also a former player. He was the starting libero for Graceland University in Iowa.

Casaquit was the captain and led the team to its first appearance in the NAIA National Championship.

The former player-turned-coach will look to get UCLA back on track, and he knows more than anybody it will be a collective effort.
