UCLA offered Oaks Christian (Westlake Village, CA) 2026 running back Deshonne Redeaux this past weekend, and it didn't take long for Redeaux to schedule a visit thereafter.

Redueax, a four-star recruit and the 57th-best overall recruit in the class of 2025 currently has over 20 offers from programs like Alabama, Miami, Texas, Georgia and many other big-time programs. He measures up at 6-foot, 180 pounds and took his 7.8 average yards per carry as a freshman up to 9 yards per carry this past season, his sophomore year at Oaks Christian High.

Apart from his outstanding production, Redeaux has talent in droves. He looks like prime New Orleans Saints-era Alvin Kamara with how balanced he is as a runner both inside and outside the box. In the first play of his sophomore highlight tape, he takes what looks like is going to be a 3/4-yard draw to the house using outstanding coordination and foot drive. You can check this play and many others in the embedded Hudl clip at the end of this article.

The fact that UCLA's new head coach DeShaun Foster was also UCLA's running backs coach last season, who himself was at one point a Bruins running back, should bode well in the recruitment of Redeaux.

Redeaux told Rivals.com after visiting Georgia that "It’s a lot, how many running backs they’ve produced in the league. They’re really RBU,” giving UCLA fans a peak as to exactly what criteria he may be looking at when considering his future school.

UCLA has had three running backs drafted in the past four seasons in Zach Charbonnet (2022 2nd-rounder),  Brittain Brown (2021 7th-rounder), and Joshua Kelley (2020 4th-rounder). While there's a ton of time between when Redeaux will enroll in college and now, it's a good sign he's taking a visit this early in his recruitment.
