UCLA Bruins' Gabriela Jaquez Takes on Intense Military Drills in "I Can Do That"

Gabriela Jaquez joined Whistle Sports' new episode of "I Can Do That," presented by the United States Air Force, to test her ability to handle military drills.

To play college sports takes a lot of guts and strength, which is comprised of training, a strong mindset, and more. The same can be said for military training and those who have gone through basic training and continue to serve this country.

UCLA Bruins sophomore Gabriela Jaquez was challenged by the United States Air Force to take on a series of intense military workouts in "I Can Do That" by Whistle Sports, which is also presented by the United States Air Force.

The above video showcases Jaquez speaking about the mental fortitude that it takes to play collegiate basketball. She mentions her basketball lineage with her parents and her two brothers, one of whom is the current star rookie for the Miami Heat, Jaime Jaquez.

Jaquez also speaks about her competitive nature and trying to beat her brothers at basketball. We are unsure of who was the victor in those matches, but she can have the bragging rights of keeping pace with Air Force military personnel.

Jaquez goes through intense training, which includes multiple push-ups, an obstacle course, and even "tactical casualty care."

While training in tactical casualty care, Jaquez compares it to having teammates on her team, as there are always people around to help. Captain Curry also indicates the comradery and teamwork that it takes in the military as well.

Captain Brittany Curry of the United States Air Force reveals that she also played college sports and challenges herself to attempt to beat Jaquez's time on the obstacle course.

Jaquez compares the "mental toughness" it takes playing college basketball, and how that translates to what it takes to make it in the military. While Jaquez might never serve in the United States Air Force, she can be proud that she engaged in military training and did not quit on herself.

Her experiences with this intense military training can be seen in the video above, and Jaquez should be happy to know that she really can do that.
