Two of your UCLA Bruins are headed to the Olympics this summer!

With the 2024 Paris Olympic Games around the corner, several UCLA athletes are competing for a chance at the ultimate sporting achievement for many.

After this past weekend, two members of UCLA women's basketball team have officially punched their ticket to Paris. Seniors Angela Dugalić and Lina Sontag missed UCLA's games over the weekend to attend the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Dugalić helped Serbia qualify over the weekend thanks to a crucial win over Brazil. Meanwhile Sontag contributed to the German women's basketball team making their first Olympic Games in history, with two wins and one loss.

Now, Dugalić and Sontag are returning to the Bruins to help UCLA qualify for March Madness and make a run at the national championship. The Bruins are off to a tremendous start to the season, ranking No. 9 in the AP Top 25 poll with a 19-4 overall record and an 8-4 conference record.

Dugalić and Sontag are both expected to be back for UCLA when they take on Oregon State this Friday. The Bruins got two wins over Arizona State and Arizona without Dugalić and Sontag, but will gladly take them back. Dugalić is averaging 9.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in 2023, while Sontag is averaging 2.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists this year.
