The excitement surrounding college women's basketball is higher than it has ever been. The UCLA Bruins went on a tear during non-conference play, securing an undefeated 11-0 record during that time.

Lauren Betts, Charisma Osborne, and Kiki Rice have all been fantastic during this time, including the entire team. There is a big reason why the Bruins are ranked #2 in the country. They have gelled in the right ways.

They will officially begin conference play this Saturday, as they take on their crosstown rivals, the USC Trojans. The Trojans also remained undefeated during non-conference play, as they boast their own solid starting five. The excitement for the game is palpable, as it has now sold out.

The Pauley Pavilion has officially sold out, as everyone has been aching to see what the Bruins can do against #6 ranked USC.

Should the Bruins handle business, they could find themselves ranked #1 by week's end.

The team has certainly been ready for the challenge, and Coach Close has stated that the squad is ready for the challenge that USC brings. The Bruins can kick off conference play the right way by taking down the Trojans.

UCLA takes on USC this Saturday at 5 p.m. PST.
