UCLA Women's Basketball: Bruins Best Buffaloes Behind Stout Defense

The club's backcourt stood out.

Your No. 8-ranked UCLA Bruins bested the visiting, No. 13-ranked Colorado Buffaloes yesterday, in UCLA's Pauley Pavilion finale as the 2023-24 NCAA regular season wraps up.

The Bruins' starting backcourt tandem of sophomore guard Kiki Rice and fifth-year senior guard Charisma Osborne were the stars of the show on offense, but the club's collective defense effort really shone through.

UCLA held Colorado to a miserable 29% field goal conversion rate, plus a season-worst 45 points, in claiming a 53-45 victory.

Rice paced the club with 20 points, nine boards, four dimes, three rejections and two swipes. Osborne had 14 points of her own. No other Bruin scored in double digits. Colorado was led by star senior guard Jaylyn Sherrod's 10 points.

Next up for the Bruins will be an Arizona road trip, where the club will square off against the Arizona State Sun Devils Thursday night and the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday.
