UCLA Women's Basketball: Bruins Concede "Tougher" Team Won In USC Bout
Your UCLA Bruins finally ran out of steam in the second overtime period of a win-ugly 80-70 classic against the USC Trojans, during their Pac-12 Tournament Semifinal matchup.
Blue and Gold head coach Cori Close spoke frankly after the game about how the club let the game slip away late, writes Thuc Nhi Nguyen of The Los Angeles Times.
“We always say that the tougher, more together team wins and they were a little bit tougher than us,” UCLA coach Cori Close said. “And just being really candid, that’s always on me, it’s my responsibility to have my team be in position to be that and we weren’t.”
Next up, UCLA will head home and await its seeding for the NCAA Tournament this month. USC advances to square off against the Stanford Cardinal, the top-ranked club in the Pac-12 Tournament, during a championship game tomorrow afternoon. There's a good chance these two teams will meet again during the Big Dance. Here's hoping the Bruins will work on their togetherness in the future.
