UCLA Womens: Basketball: Bruins Dominate Hawai'i For 11th Straight Win
The UCLA Bruins Women's Basketball team continues to roll on their dominant undefeated season. The team took on Hawai'i and completely dominated the game to win 85-46.ย
The starting five is up to their same old tricks, as four of the five logged double-digit points. Charisma Osborne led the pack with 17 points, and right behind was Lauren Betts with 16. Kiki Rice pulled down 14, Londynn Jones secured 12 and Angela Dugalic had 7.ย
One of Betts' baskets was a clean pass from Dugalic, which occurred in the opening moments of the 1st quarter.ย
The Bruins women were well in control through the 1st quarter, as they ended it with 27-6.ย
The second was much of the same, as the team outscored Hawai'i 18 to 10. Kiki Rice would blow passed everyone on her way to a clean bucket from a steal.ย
Heading to the end of the third quarter, it was purely evident that this game would go UCLA's way, as they once again outscored Hawai'i 20 to 13.ย
Rice passed it to Jones, who easily sneaks a three-pointer. The team was firing on all cylinders heading into the fourth quarter.ย
On top of once again outscoring Hawai'i 20 to 17, Charisma Osborne pulled down a three-pointer, which placed her in some huge company.ย
She now holds a three-way tie withย Kari Korver and Lisa Willis for the most three-pointers made in school history. We imagine Osborne will smash that record by season's end.ย
The team is now 11-0 and will head on Christmas break. With this much-needed rest, they are set to take on crosstown rival USC Trojans on December 30.ย
Both the Trojans and Bruins are undefeated, so next week's game will surely be exciting.ย
