UCLA Women's Basketball: Bruins Final AP Ranking Revealed

Where UCLA ranks after final regular season game.

UCLA women's basketball has risen to No. 7 in the AP Top 25 poll after the final week of the women's college basketball regular season. The Bruins rose one spot from last week when they ranked eighth. This was also a quick improvement from two weeks ago when UCLA fell to No. 12 in the rankings after they ranked as high as No. 2 this season. Now, they sit solidly at seventh.

In their final week of the regular season, the Bruins got wins over Arizona and Arizona State in dominant fashion. UCLA defeated Arizona State by almost 30 points with a 70-41 victory before taking down Arizona by twenty in a 61-41 win. Lauren Betts was phenomenal in both games, with back-to-back double-doubles.

Only South Carolina (1st), Stanford (2nd), Iowa (3rd), Ohio State (4th), USC (5th), and Texas (6th) rank ahead of UCLA heading into the postseason.

Now, the Bruins will gear up for the Pac-12 women's basketball tournament in Las Vegas this week. UCLA has the No. 3 seed in the Pac-12 and will play their first game on Thursday night. Their opponent has yet to be revealed.

UCLA comes into the Pac-12 on a five-game winning streak, which should give them some good momentum heading into the tournament. The toughest opponents in the tournament will be Stanford, USC, and Oregon State, who have all defeated the Bruins this season.

After the tournament, the Bruins will gear up for March Madness, and a shot at the national championship.
