UCLA Women's Basketball: Bruins Forward Injures ACL, Out For Season
UCLA Bruins forward Emily Bessoir will miss the remainder of the season after she reinjured her ACL. She originally tore it during the 2021-2022 season, and now will be forced to deal with it again.
She injured her ACL playing in the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers for her native Germany. Bessoir has only played in one game for the Bruins this season, but this is still an unfortunate loss for them.
Last year, she made the Pac-12 All-Tournament team, playing in 27 games for UCLA.
Bruins head coach Cori Close gave her thoughts on the injury, but she knows that Bessoir will rebound strongly from this setback.
"I'm just heartbroken for Emily, for her and for us," coach Cori Close said. "She's been such a steady leader for us and she had so many things going for her this year. I look forward to seeing how this is going to be part of her conquering story."

The Bruins are currently ranked second in the country, and they are putting together a very impressive season. They have a stacked roster and championship aspirations.
This loss of Bessoir hurts their depth, but they will have to find a way to push forward. Since she hasn't played much this season, it shouldn't affect them much, unless they suffer any other injuries.
The Bruins are putting together their best season yet, so the hope is that they can continue their winning ways. They are dreaming of a National Championship, and have the talent to make it happen.
