UCLA Women's Basketball: Bruins Rocket Into AP Top 10 For Last Week Of Regular Season
Heading into the final week of the women's college basketball regular season, your UCLA women's basketball program returned to the Associated Press Poll's Top 10. The Bruins moved up four spots to No. 8 in the AP Top 25 poll.
The move up comes after a dominant 30-point 82-52 win from UCLA over No. 18 Utah. Though Utah beat UCLA earlier in the season, the Bruins got thorough revenge over the Utes in this game. Londynn Jones starred for the Bruins, leading the game with 23 points combined with three rebounds and one assist.
The Bruins fell out of the AP Top 10 a week ago and ranked No. 12 after a loss to Oregon State. It didn't take them long to return, with a strong win over Utah doing the trick. This is the highest UCLA has ranked since Week 13, when they ranked No. 7. Their highest ranking of the season was No. 2.
UCLA will have three more games to close out the regular season. They will face Colorado, Arizona State and Arizona over the next week. How they fare will determine their final AP ranking heading into Pac-12 tournament play. With at least two wins in the next three games, UCLA should be able to maintain their spot in the top ten.
With three games in one week, the Bruins will need to stay focused, especially with postseason play right around the corner.
