UCLA Women's Basketball: Londynn Jones Comments on Huge Defensive Performance in Bruins Win
The UCLA Bruins began conference play by taking on the USC Trojans in front of a sold-out crowd at the Pauley Pavilion. Though the first half nearly saw the Trojans take the lead, the Bruins held strong throughout the entire game.
A huge reason the Bruins came out on top and stayed there had to do with the performance of sophomore guard Lodynn Jones. Jones ended the night with 21 points and 7 rebounds.
Jones was flying all over the court ensuring that the Bruins had a chance to secure the ball. She commented on the performance after the game.
Jones spoke about how the Bruins always "have her back" and make each other "look really good."
That is certainly true, as UCLA continues to gel in a way that should catapult them right into NCAA Tournament favor.
Jones admitted that the Bruins have been working on their defense, and that is what she aimed to include in her game. That was certainly evident throughout the whole night.
The Bruins had to play a tough defensive game, as the Trojans have JuJu Watkins. Watkins is one of the most dynamic players in the Pac-12. She ended the night with 27 points.
The Bruins are set to take on Oregon on January 5, and they look to extend their undefeated overall record and undefeated conference record.
