Sophomore UCLA women's basketball big Christeen Iwuala has had a modest go of it thus far with the 9-0 Bruins. The 6'2" forward is averaging 4.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists off the bench.

Ahead of the season, she spoke with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson about one surprise frequent visitor alum: nine-time All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook, now with the Los Angeles Clippers.

"For me, Russell Westbrook was a huge one," Iwuala told Robinson. "I love how he plays. His mentality when he attacks everything, the way he goes about just playing in general with like, I’m going to go with the most intensity that I can possibly bring to the table… He was one of the main ones I looked up to growing up and then also Jordan Canada. Her fight with the height disadvantage and that really didn’t stop her from being a threat on the ENTIRE court and you could see that no matter where she was at.

"He’s such a great supporter for our women’s basketball team; he’s able to come out to the games, so it’s great to being able to have him there and just being able to talk to him sometimes and he works out at our practice facility [Rico Hines Workouts]," Iwuala said, "...Just being able to see him and watch his work ethic firsthand is amazing. It’s awesome. I don’t think I would get that anywhere else.
