UCLA Women's Basketball: Vanquished FSU Coach In Awe Of Bruins
Your undefeated, 9-0 UCLA Bruins women's basketball team put together one of their more impressive victories of the budding 2023-24 NCAA season on Sunday, in besting 7-3 Florida State (the Associated Press' 20th-ranked team in the nation) 95-78.
UCLA didn't look totally invulnerable the whole time, however, as at one point in the second quarter the Seminoles "only" trailed by 10 points, 47-37, at one point during the contest's first half.
FSU couldn't handle center Lauren Betts, who notched an eye-popping 22-point, 18-rebound double-double. The 6'7" sophomore transfer has been on one this season. On the year, she's averaging 16.4 points on an astronomical 80.9% field goal shooting, plus 8.1 rebounds.
The Bruins seem to have a pretty unlikely fan after putting the smackdown on Florida State coach head coach Brooke Wyckoff , per Doug Feinberg of The Associated Press.
“They are an amazing basketball team, really talented, excited to see them go far this season,” Wyckoff said. “Happy for the way we battled today. Ta’Niya [Latson] did what Ta’Niya does.”
Latson, a 5'8" sophomore guard, is averaging 17.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists pe bout.
