STORRS, Conn. – Head coach Jim Mora has announced that Beau Davidson and Errin Joe have joined the UConn football staff as part of the Player Personnel Department. Davidson has been named director of player personnel and Joe has been tabbed as the director of recruiting, as announced on Tuesday.

"I'm excited to welcome Beau and Errin to the UConn football family," Mora said. "UConn has so much to offer and presents such a tremendous opportunity for so many young men. Working directly under our general manager, Preston Pehrson, Beau and Errin will be key in ensuring we are conveying our recruiting messages effectively and providing a great experience to the young men that we host on campus."

Beau Davidson | Director of Player Personnel

Beau Davidson, who served as the director of recruiting at Texas Tech during the 2021 season, has joined the UConn football staff as the team's director of player personnel.

A native of Katy, Texas, Davidson joined the Raiders after spending the previous four years in various roles at Virginia Tech. He began his tenure with the Hokies as an offensive quality control coach before joining Virginia Tech's player personnel department the past two seasons. Davidson was promoted to director of recruiting at Va. Tech in 2020, and helped the Hokies land several prospects from the state of Texas during his tenure in Blacksburg.

Prior to his move to Virginia Tech, Davidson was the defensive coordinator at Howard Payne University in Brownwood for the 2007-18 season. It was his first collegiate position since 2009 when he was the defensive line coach and video coordinator at Northeastern State. He was previously the offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Trinity Valley Community College in 2008 and then a graduate assistant at North Texas, his alma mater, in 2007.

In between, Davidson spent seven seasons at the high school level, working on both sides of the ball at Deer Park High School (2010-12, 2013-14), Dickinson (2012-13), Baytown Sterling (2014-16) and Clear Springs (2016-17). He coached the secondary, defensive line and offensive line throughout his different stints before finishing as the defensive coordinator at both Baytown Sterling and Clear Springs.

Davidson was a three-year letterman at North Texas prior to starting his coaching career as he played tight end and served as a long snapper for the Mean Green. His father, Greg, was also a North Texas letterwinner before playing at center for the Houston Oilers from 1980-82.

Davidson and his wife, Leandra, are parents of two daughters, Kate and Emma.

Errin Joe | Director of Recruiting

Errin Joe, who spent the last four seasons on the Georgia Tech football staff, has joined the Huskies as the program's new director of recruiting.

Joe was a graduate assistant for Georgia Tech from 2018-20 and was elevated to the role of associate director of player personnel during the 2021 season. Joe was a standout offensive lineman for Georgia Tech from 2014-15 and started the final seven games of the 2014 season at right tackle. Joe helped anchor a unit that led the nation in rushing with a school-record 342.1 yards per game and allowed just .79 sacks per contest.

Joe was a quality control assistant at FIU during the 2017 season and was an English teacher at his high school alma mater, Lake Gibson, in Lakeland, Fla.

During his time at Georgia Tech, Joe earned a bachelor's degree in literature media and communication and his master's degree in building construction.
