Football Player Profile: Will Knight, Running Back
Will Knight
Running Back
5'10" 225-Pounds
Smyrna, DE
Gardner City CC
Evaluation:
A compact back who runs low to the ground and does an excellent job hiding behind his blockers, Knight possesses a similar body type to Maurice Jones-Drew. Some of his traits such as patience, vision and jump cut ability, allow him to set up big plays. The Delaware product certainly owns explosion and burst, with enough juice to take it to the house on any given play. His skill-set would seem to thrive in a zone attack but Knight has proven that he can tote the rock 30-plus times per game if needed and can wear down a defense by the end of the game. He has also shown to be a competent pass-catcher out of the backfield and could be a stabilizing hold-the-fort piece on offense for the Huskies, as they continue to make an imprint with younger recruits. Knight will likely factor as a key backfield cog in 2022.
