The Huskies paw prints continue to leave tracks along the recruiting trails, with their latest offer hailing from one of the biggest hotbeds in the country. Class of 2023 wide receiver Collin Dixon announced that UConn has made him an official scholarship offer.

A true playmaker from Ohio, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound wideout can line up outside or inside and has been timed at 4.49 in the forty-yard dash, per his HUDL profile. Upon his film review, it’s easy to see that he possesses blazing breakaway speed and is capable of taking it to the house on any given play, which also makes him a dangerous weapon on bubbles or end arounds.

Other attributes that stand out are his ability to play vertically and win contested catches. A three-sport athlete (basketball/track), the terms competitiveness and work ethic often come up when Dixon is discussed.

“He has all the measurables,” Tallmadge high school football coach Mike Hay recently told the Akron Beacon Journal. “He’s got the height, weight and speed, all that stuff but what makes him special is his coachability and his leadership.”

It’s no wonder that UConn is just the latest school to offer Dixon, whose list includes Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Duke, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kent State, Kentucky, Marshall, Miami, Pittsburgh, Purdue and Wisconsin.

“The kid works just as hard off the field as he does on. He works hard in the classroom. He’s a football junkie. He’s a great kid. He’s a great leader and he’s very coachable. When you have those two things combined with the obvious talent it spreads to the whole team. From a coaching perspective, you love that.”

The UConn Country should hope that Dixon decides to join the prowl.
