2024 UNC commit Ian Jackson continues to impress in latest stretch of games
Class of 2024 UNC commit and five-star Ian Jackson has played some head-turning basketball over the past two weeks.
On Feb. 7, the 6-4, 185 pound shooting guard at Cardinal Hayes High School (NY) recorded a double-double in a win with 18 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists
Three days later, he stepped up again for a triple double, pouring in 22 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in another victory for the Cardinals.
Jackson didn't stop there, bringing another double-double in a win on Sunday, elevating his scoring total to 23 points and 14 rebounds.
Then on Tuesday, Jackson exploded for a 35-point, 12-rebound double-double in yet another Cardinal Hayes victory.
Jackson has shown throughout his junior season of high school to be a highly talented and athletic guard with a knack for rebounding. After Sunday's performance, he was averaging a near triple double on the season, posting 18.2 points, 10 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game, according to nationwide high school basketball analyst Alex Karamanos of The Circuit.
Jackson committed to UNC on Jan. 16 and strengthened the Tar Heels' No. 1 2024 recruiting class of Elliot Cadeau, James Brown and Drake Powell. He is the second five-star in the group (Cadeau is the other) and the third UNC commit ranked No. 1 in their respective states by 247 Sports (Cadeau (MO) and Brown (IL)).
Will he be able to continue his impressive production in a North Carolina jersey?
