For the first time since the 2019-2020 season, North Carolina will compete in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, an eight team event in Nassau, Bahamas from Nov. 22-24.

The Tar Heels are joined by Villanova, Michigan, Texas Tech, Memphis, Northern Iowa, Arkansas, and Stanford.

On Wednesday, the schedule was unveiled, giving North Carolina their opening round matchup and the chance to look ahead at potential opponents.

The Tar Heels will open up play against Northern Iowa in the tournament's opener at noon on Nov. 22.

Awaiting North Carolina in either the winner or loser's bracket will be Villanova or Texas Tech.

Former Tar Heel Kerwin Walton, who transferred from Chapel Hill to Texas Tech, could play against his former team with a spot in the championship on the line.

Stadium's Jeff Goodman has North Carolina as the highest rated team in the field at No. 12 with Arkansas (No. 13) and Villanova (No. 19) the two other projected ranked teams.

With a handful of potential ranked opponents and Quad One opportunities awaiting in Nassau, the Tar Heels could return to Chapel Hill with some quality wins on their resume.
