2020 PG Caleb Love commits to Carolina

The Tar Heels land the nations fourth-ranked point guard

North Carolina got its point guard for what's becoming a stellar 2020 recruiting class as Caleb Love announced his commitment to the Tar Heels on Tuesday night.

Love, the fourth-ranked point guard and No. 21 overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings, chose Carolina over staying home at Missouri.

At 6-3, 170 pounds, Love is capable of playing either guard spot and possesses lethal scoring ability from anywhere on the floor. 

With Carolina freshman Cole Anthony likely headed to the NBA after this season, Love slots in nicely as the third straight high-scoring freshman point guard to join the Tar Heels.

Originally set to take official visits to Louisville and Kansas, Love cancelled those visits after visiting Chapel Hill on the weekend of Sept. 20, along with five-star big man Walker Kessler.

Kessler, who had been heavily recruited by Duke, made a surprise commitment to Carolina on Sept. 22.

Love joins Kessler and big man Day'Ron Sharpe in Carolina's 2020 recruiting class as the Tar Heels join Duke as the only program with three five-start commitments in the class.

Carolina is also pursuing elite forwards Isaiah Todd, Ziaire Williams, Greg Brown and Cade Cunningham, the No. 2 guard in the class.

Brown, Cunningham and Williams joined Sharpe in visiting on Friday night for Late Night with Roy.
