Former North Carolina standout Cam Johnson will hit free agency this offseason, demanding a solid payday from a handful of suitors.

Beginning on July 1st, he will become an unrestricted free agent and be able to sign with any team.

After that however, Johnson will be competing for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup this summer, according ESPN Adrian Wojnarowski.

He will be part of a 12-man roster that features teammate Mikal Bridges, who Johnson has played with in both Phoenix and Brooklyn.

As of now, 10 players, including Johnson, have committed to play for Team USA this summer. The likes of Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Jalen Brunson, Brandon Ingram, and Austin Reaves will play alongside Johnson.

In his fourth season in the league, Johnson appeared in 42 games for the Suns and Nets, averaging a career-high 15.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He shot a career-high 47 percent from the field and was efficient from beyond the arc, shooting over 40 percent for the second consecutive season.

Team USA will compete in Group B in the Philippines when the World Cup kicks off on Aug. 25, alongside Jordan, Greece, and New Zealand. They will open up play against Greece on Aug. 26.
