WATCH: Cole Anthony discusses 34-point outburst in UNC debut

The freshman set a new Tar Heel record.

North Carolina freshman Cole Anthony set a new school record with 34 points in his Tar Heel debut, passing the mark of 28 points previously held by Rashad McCants.

After a decent first half with 11 points, Anthony caught fire with 23 points in the second half, making 5 of 8 3-point attempts as he put the Tar Heels on his back in a 76-65 victory over Notre Dame.

The freshman admitted he was in the zone.

"It just, I think it’s surreal," he said. "It’s a good word for it; it’s like you’re not thinking about anything else, it feels like that stadium was empty to me. I was in there just playing basketball."
