Holy Innocents Episcopal (Ga.) power forward Caleb Wilson picked up a UNC basketball offer in late May, over a month before fellow bluebloods Duke and Kentucky officially entered the fray. Now, according to his recent chat with On3's Jamie Shaw, "On the blueblood side, Kentucky and UNC are sticking out."

Wilson, No. 4 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, has since scheduled upcoming official visits to Kentucky, Alabama, and Tennessee.

No word on a trip to UNC. Not yet, anyway.

But the 6-foot-10, 200-pound explosive five-star sure had some kind things to say about the Tar Heels while speaking to Shaw.

"My relationship with them has been good," Caleb Wilson noted about third-year UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis and his crew. "They came to see me play a lot...I've talked to every coach on their coaching staff, and I feel like we're growing a bond.

"They play with a lot of freedom, and I'm the type of player that doesn't need a set to get me going. That freedom they give, I think, will allow me to do a lot of the things that I do."

What he does includes dominating inside the paint on both ends of the court while also helping to stretch the floor via his improving confidence on the perimeter and somewhat smooth outside stroke.

Despite playing against guys over a year older than him on the Nike EYBL circuit in the spring and summer, Wilson averaged 14.8 points, 8.3 boards, 3.1 dimes, 1.8 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game for the Georgia Stars. He shot only 36.2 percent from the field but knocked down an impressive 80.7 percent of his attempts (46-for-57) at the foul line.

For now, Wilson hasn't named finalists in his recruitment. And he hasn't specified when he'll decide on a winner. Meanwhile, the battle for his services has yet to yield a 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction.

He's one of seven 2025 UNC basketball targets, all composite five-star prospects ranking among the top 20 in the class.
