While North Carolina has experienced turnover and change this offseason with six transfer portal entrants and two commitments, another domino has fallen within the program.

On Wednesday, Inside Carolina reported that Jackie Manuel, North Carolina's Director of Team and Player Development, is leaving the program for an assistant coaching job at American University.

As he departs Chapel Hill, Manuel with reunite with new Eagles coach Duane Simpkins, who was an assistant coach with Manuel at UNC-Greensboro under Wes Miller.

He spent two seasons on Hubert Davis' staff after spending time with the Spartans, at Valparaiso, and at UNC-Wilmington.

As a player, Manuel was a captain on the 2005 National Championship team and spent four seasons in Chapel Hill.

With the upward move in his coaching career, expect to hear Manuel's name again, as he helped multiple Tar Heels find success during his time with the program.

How will Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball staff replace the National Champion on their staff?
