Justin McKoy commits to Hawaii
Former UNC forward Justin McKoy committed to Hawaii on Tuesday, per his social media.
McKoy entered the transfer portal on March 13 after two seasons with UNC. He played his first two seasons with Virginia, making four starts and averaging 2.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in his short stint. He has one year of eligibility left.
The Raleigh, North Carolina native was Hubert Davis' first commitment as a head coach in 2021, but he didn't make much of an impact on the floor. Since becoming a Tar Heel, McKoy played just seven minutes per game in his junior season and even less as a senior with just 11 in-game appearances.
McKoy struggled to find his place on the team, sitting behind other transfer forwards in Brady Manek and Pete Nance. His numbers declined across the board from his time as a Cavalier.
The graduate transfer will now join a Hawaii program led by head coach Eran Ganot for his final year. The Rainbow Warriors finished 22-11 and fifth in the Big West Conference in the 2022-23 season.
Will McKoy have a successful college finale at his new home?
