No program has produced more ACC Player of the Week selections this go-round than the UNC basketball team. And on Monday afternoon, the No. 3 Tar Heels (17-3, 9-0 ACC) increased their count to five, as senior guard RJ Davis took home the honor for the third time this season. But it was the first time that he didn't share the honor.

In last week's wins over Wake Forest and Florida State, Davis averaged 30.0 points while shooting 56.1 from the field and coming up clutch in both outings.

Last Monday night, his 36 points against the Demon Deacons, including 24 in the second half, marked the most by any ACC player in a conference outing since February 2022 and the most by a UNC player versus an ACC foe since Brice Johnson tallied 39 against Florida State in January 2016.

Against the Seminoles on Saturday, the 22-year-old Davis, now the leading contender for the ACC Player of the Year distinction, finished with 24 points. He did so without committing a single turnover in the contest.

RJ Davis and Armando Bacot, a two-time ACC Player of the Week this season, are the only 2023-24 Tar Heels who have taken home the honor.

At 7 p.m. ET Tuesday (ESPN), they face unranked Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Then, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday (also on ESPN), UNC hosts archrival No. 7 Duke, featuring the reigning ACC Rookie of the Week in guard Jared McCain.
