Link Academy (Mo.) junior Jasper Johnson plans on visiting his UNC basketball suitors at some point this winter, the 6-foot-4, 170-pound slick guard told 247Sports' Brandon Jenkins over the weekend at the Thanksgiving Hoopfest in Dallas.

Johnson, who ranks No. 13 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, has held an offer from the Tar Heels for only a couple of months. But he's an admitted longtime fan of the program, and the visit plans indicate significant mutual interest between him and Hubert Davis' staff.

Furthermore, it's worth pointing out that Jasper Johnson is a Link Academy teammate to four-star center James Brown, one of UNC's three early signees in the 2024 cycle.

As for Johnson's decision, he told On3's Jack Pilgrim in October that he's eyeing Peach Jam in July to announce his college destination.

"By the time I plan on committing at the end of the summer, it gives me my whole senior year to focus on basketball instead of making all of these visits," he explained. "By that time, I'll be ready to commit to a school and just focus on basketball the rest of my high school career."

The UNC basketball recruiters have offers out to eight other 2025 prospects: five-star guard Cayden Boozer, five-star guard Isiah Harwell, five-star guard Darryn Peterson, five-star forward Cameron Boozer, five-star forward Koa Peat, five-star forward AJ Dybantsa, five-star forward Bryson Tiller, and five-star forward Caleb Wilson.
