Three UNC Basketball Players on 'Top 100' List for 2023-24 Season

Only Purdue center and reigning national player of the year Zach Edey is better than UNC basketball graduate big man Armando Bacot, according to the "Top 100 And 1 Players for 2023-24" ranking that CBS Sports' panel of writers recently compiled.

It's worth noting that Bacot sits one spot above archrival Duke's reigning ACC Rookie of the Year and preseason ACC Player of the Year in 7-foot forward Kyle Filipowski. Three other Blue Devils are on the list: sophomore guard Tyrese Proctor (No. 14), senior guard Jeremy Roach (No. 33), and sophomore wing Mark Mitchell (No. 77).

Meanwhile, Bacot, a preseason All-American and All-ACC First Team selection, is not the only Tar Heel under third-year head coach Hubert Davis with the "top 100" tag from CBS Sports.

UNC basketball senior guard RJ Davis, who averaged a career-high 16.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game last season but got snubbed from preseason All-ACC honors this year, appears at No. 19 overall.

Then, junior forward Harrison Ingram, who spent two seasons as a productive, versatile weapon at Stanford before announcing his transfer to UNC back in April and now looks set to be a full-time starter for the Tar Heels, snuck in at No. 98.

The preseason No. 19 Tar Heels' regular season begins next Monday night with a matchup against visiting Radford in the Dean E. Smith Center. UNC hopes to improve on last season's disappointing 20-13 campaign.
