UNC Basketball Alum Disagrees Over Wolfpack Deserving 'Something Nice'
UNC basketball boasts a 166-80 record in its all-time series with nearby rival NC State. The Tar Heels have won 38 of their past 44 meetings with the Wolfpack and swept their two regular-season contests this season.

And entering Saturday night's ACC Tournament finale, Carolina enjoys a 4-2 edge over State in their all-time clashes in the conference's title bout. UNC prevailed in 1968, 1975, 1997, and 2007; NC State came out on top in 1959 and 1987.
Speaking of 1987, as OG Media's Joe Giglio reminded folks on social media, that Wolfpack title tied the Tar Heels for the most in the ACC at the time with their 10 apiece, three more than Duke. Now, 37 years later, NC State is still stuck on 10 while UNC looks to tally its 19th and pull within three of Duke's top mark.
Consider NC State's drought. Pair it with the No. 10 seed Wolfpack's thus-far unshakeable determination in reeling off four wins in four days in the Capital One Arena, not to mention that their NCAA Tournament hopes are at stake while head coach Kevin Keatts' job security has been a hot topic of discussion all year.
With all of the above in mind, it's no wonder national media members are beginning to openly root for the Wolfpack, who entered the postseason on a four-game losing streak, to pull off the monumental upset against the No. 1 seed Tar Heels, currently riding an eight-game winning streak.
On Friday night, after NC State miraculously forced overtime with a banked-in three at the buzzer on its way to defeating No. 3 seed Virginia, college hoops insider Jeff Goodman argued that "Pack fans deserve something nice."
It seems Kenny Williams III vehemently disagrees with Goodman's sentiment. Keeping with the spirit of what is an ever-heated rivalry despite its lopsided results, the former four-year UNC basketball guard, one-time national champion, and 2018-19 team captain hilariously posted the following response: "Do they?? Can't agree."
The Tar Heels (27-6, 17-3 ACC) and Wolfpack (21-14, 9-11 ACC) tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).
