UNC Basketball Alum Sparks Remarkable Comeback Victory
The Sacramento Kings trailed the visiting Golden State Warriors, 72-48, late in the first half of their Tuesday night battle. But with a minute to play before the break, UNC basketball product and 12th-year pro Harrison Barnes knocked down a three, the spark to a 7-0 Kings run to end the half.
Sacramento (10-6) shed eight more points from its deficit in the third quarter before outscoring Golden State (8-10), 29-19, in the fourth to prevail, 124-123.
Barnes finished with 12 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block across his 26 minutes as a starter.
The 31-year-old, who went No. 7 overall to the Warriors following his two UNC basketball campaigns and has been a durable full-time starter in the league pretty much ever since, shot 5-for-8 from the field and 2-for-5 from deep in the contest.
Through 16 outings this season, Harrison Barnes is averaging 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 31.2 minutes per game. The 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward is shooting 47.9 percent from the field, 37.8 percent beyond the arc, and 83.7 percent at the charity stripe.
He and the Kings next face the Los Angeles Clippers (7-9) in Sacramento at 10 p.m. ET Wednesday.
