UNC Basketball Recruiting: Silky Guard Sees 'Dream School' Visitors
UNC basketball recruiters will be in Utah on Tuesday to check in on one of their heralded 2025 targets, Wasatch Academy shooting guard Isiah Harwell, according to a report from 24/7 High School Hoops.
Harwell, who received an offer from the Tar Heels around this same time last year, ranks No. 2 among shooting guards, No. 1 in Utah, and No. 7 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite.
"That's been my dream school growing up," the 16-year-old Harwell said about UNC during a chat withย On3's Jamie Shaw in late July. "I took an unofficial visit there. I love [UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis]; talking with him, we've built a good relationship. He's a nice guy and wants the best for me."
Here is On3's most recent scouting report onย the 6-foot-5, 180-pound versatile backcourt weapon:
"Isiah Harwell is a complete shooting guard prospect. At 6-foot-5, he has good length and a strong lower body. Harwell plays at a great pace, does not play rushed, and seems to make great decisions with the ball in his hands. Harwell has a good burst when attacking the basket, getting on the rim in the halfcourt. Solid handle, frame, skill, and IQ, there is a lot to like about the five-star."
At this juncture, Isiah Harwell is one of seven in his class holding a UNC basketball offer. All seven are five-star prospects. The other six are combo guard Cayden Boozer, shooting guard Darryn Peterson, and power forwards Cameron Boozer, Koa Peat, Bryson Tiller, and Caleb Wilson.
