UNC schedules in-home visit with transfer target
Following the 2022-2023 season for North Carolina, three Tar Heels have entered the transfer portal.
In the new age of college sports, recruiting transfers is as important as ever and Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball staff have their sights set on a mid-major transfer from the Colonial Athletic Assocation.
North Carolina will conduct an in-home visit this week with Towson transfer and guard Nicolas Timberlake, according to Stockrisers' Jake Weingarten. Ohio State will also visit the 6-foot-4 guard.
Timberlake has spent part of the last five seasons with the Tigers and recorded his best year during the 2022-2023 campaign. This past season, Timberlake averaged a team-high 17.7 points, while adding in 3.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
The Braintree, MA native was efficient from the floor, shooting a career-high 45.5 percent overall 41.6 percent from three.
After appearing in just nine games and transferring during the 2018-2019 season, Timberlake became a consistent threat for Towson, starting 85 games and playing in 113 for the Tigers.
Over 122 career games, Timberlake averaged 12.5 points and 3.9 rebounds, while shooting 37.9 percent from three.
With the Buckeyes conducting a visit, Butler, Oregon, and Xaviers have also expressed interest in the transfer guard.
Can North Carolina secure a commitment through the portal as they begin preparing for the 2023-2024 campaign?
