Shaver enrolled in Chapel Hill in January 2022 with the goal of learning UNC's system and growing before his true freshman season last fall.

While he was on the bench for North Carolina's run to the National Championship Game, his time in a Tar Heel uniform was short lived.

Shaver appeared in just three games in 2022, all prior to the turn of the calendar year, before suffering a broken bone in his left foot in December.

He scored his first career points in North Carolina's four overtime loss to Alabama and last appeared in a 100-67 victory over The Citadel.

The Birmingham,, AL native was a three star recruit in the class of 2022 and was a member of Hubert Davis' first recruiting class.

Shaver's departure ultimately adds another roster opening for the Tar Heels as he heads to the Missouri Valley Conference.
